At the recent RFUANZ Gala Dinner, two Tait team members were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the critical communications industry:
- Ian Gardiner, Tait’s History Curator and one of the company’s original team members, received the Lifetime Service Award.
- Andrew McTaggart, Senior Service Delivery Manager, was awarded the Standout Performer Award.
These awards reflect not only their individual achievements but also the values that continue to shape Tait’s legacy and future.
Ian Gardiner – A Lifetime of Service
Ian joined Tait in 1966 and has contributed across engineering, manufacturing, and international sales. Now serving as our History Curator, Ian plays a key role in preserving the company’s legacy. His technical innovations, including the hot standby unit for NZ Post and the T193 FM Mobile Radio, have left a lasting mark on our product history.
The Lifetime Service Award recognises individuals who have shown exceptional dedication and long-standing commitment to the industry. Ian’s 50-year tenure and passion for mentoring others make him a truly deserving recipient.
Andrew McTaggart – A Standout Performer
With 25 years at Tait, Andrew is known for his deep technical knowledge and calm, collaborative approach to problem-solving. He plays a critical role in supporting clients, including those in public safety, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and transparently.
Andrew’s nomination was supported by both internal leaders and external partners, such as NZ Police, who praised his ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidence during high-pressure situations.
The Standout Performer Award celebrates individuals who consistently go above and beyond, and Andrew exemplifies that standard every day.
