"We were looking for best value for money. Tait is the first of a new breed of low-cost solutions becoming available to federal frequency users. These new low cost radios are the result of a fresh new competitive market we see developing and the results are exciting."
Situation
The CAP had very specific performance requirements for its radio communications. They chose a modified Tait mobile radio as the narrowband VHF FM radio for use in their nationwide emergency services programme.
Response
By modifying a Tait mobile radio CAP could switch each radio from wideband to narrowband. Another key improvement was increasing the radio's already high selectivity. The modular design of the mobile radio gives the possibility of adding features and functions in the future. The flexibility and reliability of the Tait mobile radios make Tait an effective long-term alternative for all federal agencies.
Outcomes
CAP could increase selectivity and switch easily from wideband to narrowband. Customization offers improved reliability, providing a flexible solution which conforms to their individual system design requirements.
