Tait Communications has been named a finalist for the PwC Hi-Tech Company of the Year – the most prestigious award in the sector in New Zealand.
The finalists for the annual New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards were announced on Thursday evening.
Judged exclusively by a panel of international judges, the PwC Hi-Tech Company of the Year award represents the pinnacle of achievement in the sector, drawing entrants from right across the industry.
It is judged on revenue growth, sustained innovation, commercial success and strategy, along with demonstration of strong Environmental, Social and Governance standards.
Other finalists in the category included Aroa Biosurgery, Auror, Dawn Aerospace, Gallagher Group and Halter.
Tait delivers open standard communications solutions to global customers that keep communities safe, teams connected and people moving.
CEO and Managing Director Yoram Benit, PhD, says being named a finalist in this category for the second year running reflects the dedication of Tait’s team.
“This is a testament to our people and is recognition of Tait’s ongoing growth and trajectory as we strive to become the most innovative trusted partner in critical communications.
“Much like many other New Zealand hi-tech companies, Tait is taking on the world as a global leader in its field. Congratulations to all the other finalists.”
Tait also sponsors the Flying Kiwi award, which recognises an individual who plays a leading role in ensuring the success of the sector. The company’s founder Sir Angus Tait was the very first recipient of this award in 2003.

The New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards celebrate the success of producers of goods and services from the software, electronics, telecommunications, mobile, agritech, creative and other hi-tech industries.
Hi-Tech Trust Chair Marian Johnson says the standard of entries continues to grow every year reflecting the depth of talent.
“The Hi-Tech sector is valued at over $23 billion, and we have an ever-growing number of Kiwi-founded companies becoming global success stories. This sector continues to be at the forefront of our export economy, and we look forward to celebrating at the Gala Dinner in May.”
The winners will be announced at the 2026 Hi-Tech Awards Gala Dinner on Friday 22 May at Spark Arena in Auckland.
