10 years on from our signing of 50 sites for Queensland rail and 80 sites for Manitoba Hydro in 2014, Tait continues to expand its global reach for DMR Tier III technology signings across public safety, utilities, and transport sectors around the world.
Tait builds proven DMR Tier III trunked networks that critical industries around the world rely on for safety, productivity and automation. Open standards play a critical part in Tait networks, as this allows Tait digital terminals to interface with existing analog systems which are commonplace in public safety and critical infrastructure agencies.
Our customers place great trust in our experience with large-scale network deployments, the ability to deliver on time and the quality of our infrastructure. So have our recent contracts across the world.
Junta de Andalucia deployed its Digital Emergency Network in 2023, it is the largest in Spain and the first of its kind in the whole of Europe. The mobile radio network is made up of over 120 sites, accompanied by over 6,000 portable radio units in the field all built on upon Tait DMR systems and Spanish channel partner Sistelec. This network expands a total land area of 33,600 square miles (87,000 square kilometers), servicing over 8.5 million people (nearly double the population of New Zealand).

Continuing our joint ventures with Sistelec – The ENEL Group is made up of nearly 70,000 people around the world with a focused portfolio on renewable energy through hydroelectric, wind, geothermal, solar, thermoelectric and nuclear sources of power. ENEL Spain’s required an advanced telecontrol system based on open standards to provide reliable communications across challenging geography and human challenges; Tait and Sistelec deployed 300 radio sites across five different countries to help meet this requirement.

Alliant Energy are an electrical and gas utility out of Wisconsin and Iowa, they employ over 4,000 staff members ranging from line workers, safety staff, mechanics and support staff - they supply nearly one million electricity, and over 400,000 natural gas customers supporting Wisconsin and Iowa’s critical power grid infrastructure. Alliant Energy transitioned to Tait Communications DMR Tier III systems covering 54,000 square miles(140,000 square kilometeres) which replaced 1,300 legacy radios and the radio equipment of over 122 tower sites across the territory.

Tait continues to support Queensland Rail to this by continually monitoring their 50-site network as part of our service offering. Tait has a hand in supporting over 100 sites across New Zealand from our Support Services teams to maintain and improve radio coverage across the entire country through Vital NZ.
Vital NZ is an initiative that offers critical infrastructure support services, designed to manage networks and “support our customers’ customers” to design, build, and manage networks, 24/7.
Curious as to how much DMR coverage New Zealand has?
The Tait DMR network infrastructure has been critical to our partners and customers, being able to supply critical communications infrastructure no matter the network size, geographical constraints or technical requirements. DMR Open standards and the commitment of Tait people and dealers have been crucial to the success of past, current, and future infrastructure contracts.
