From the beat to the field: Tait teams up with England police rugby team

Cambridge, United Kingdom. 14th April 2026

Tait Communications has long supported police officers around the world who keep communities safe – and now that extends to the rugby field.

Tait is proud to become an official sponsor of the England Police Rugby Union Football Club (EPRUFC), which enhances the wellbeing of police forces in the United Kingdom.

The sponsorship will support the club’s upcoming tour to South America, where the team will play two test matches and support community outreach initiatives.

As a global leader in critical communications solutions, Tait’s products are widely used by police and public safety agencies.

Tait Europe, Middle East and Africa Managing Director Andy Hatcher says the partnership is the perfect fit.

“Tait has a long association with police and frontline staff around the world, ensuring they stay connected when it matters most. We’re really proud to support the EPRUFC as the squad heads on tour to South America, which contributes to the wellbeing of those who go beyond to protect us in the most demanding of circumstances.”

The EPRUFC was formed in 2015 and is a non-profit organisation led by a committee of serving or retired members of police forces.

The players are serving officers and staff currently selected from 39 forces across England and the four special police forces in the Ministry of Defence, Civil Nuclear Constabulary, British Transport Police and National Crime Agency.

From 7-19 May, a 24-strong squad will tour South America to play two test matches.
In Buenos Aires, Argentina, the squad will face a representative Security Forces team. The tour will then move to Uruguay’s Montevideo, where the team will take on the Uruguay National Under-20 side.

This tour continues a proud tradition of international competition and cultural exchange.

Beyond the pitch, the squad will engage in meaningful community outreach. In Argentina, players will visit a local prison to support a rugby programme aimed at reducing re-offending and promoting rehabilitation. In Uruguay, the team will take part in a special session at the national stadium, delivering rugby activities for children with special educational needs, reinforcing the positive impact of sport across all communities.

“On behalf of England Police RUFC, I am delighted to welcome Tait Communications as a key partner for our upcoming tour to Argentina and Uruguay,” EPRUFC Chairman and Chief Constable Mark Roberts QPM, says.

“Their support plays a vital role in enabling this unique opportunity for our players and staff, and we look forward to representing both our organisation and our partners with pride on the international stage.”

This announcement is not Tait’s first rugby partnership. Tait is currently the exclusive critical communications partner of the Crusaders, one of the world’s most successful rugby teams. Based in Christchurch, the Crusaders use Tait’s P25 encrypted technology to ensure clear and secure communications at training, charity events and matches.

Tait is proud to partner with organisations that value teamwork, resilience, safety and performance.
