Fireground Crews Stay Safe from High Winds

A fire and rescue service automated their weather warning procedure to trigger real-time visual and audible alarms on their portable radios when weather events threatened safe working conditions.

Before automation, fireground crews relied on remote dispatchers to monitor weather conditions and report them to the commanding officer over the radio network, causing time gaps and delays.
