Omnicore Dispatch: Mining Blast Alarms (Video)

Tait Technology Partners are no strangers to innovation and helping critical industry workers stay safe and sound. The latest development from Omnitronics’ omnicore dispatch software is the implementation of a blast alarm workflow that ensures assets and personnel are evacuated when a controlled explosion occurs throughout a mine site.

The global mining sector has undergone rapid growth in the past two decades, and this is set to continue. Global production of minerals, fuels and metal ores has grown from 11.3 billion tonnes in 2000 to 17.3 billion in 2020 – a 52% increase- and demand for minerals and metals will increase six times by 2040. Investment in new technologies and processes to help keep workers safe needs to match pace with the industry’s massive growth.

Tait works with a diverse range of technology partners to help  provide  complete communications solutions for the safety and productivity of our customer’s operations. • Consoles such as Omnitronics can be connected to Tait P25 and DMR networks, and can be used to trigger blast alarms.
  • TAIT AXIOM Mobiles with AppBuilder can also be used to set more sophisticated or customized workflows and triggers for alarms.

Tait DMR is a digital communications platform that supports both voice and data, with highly flexible solutions designed for maximum reliability. Tait supports  the DMR Association’s open standards for multi vendor compatibility to ensure that customers are  not locked  into proprietary solutions.
