DMR Node Architecture | Tait Radio Academy

DMR-Node-Architecture-600x600How many control nodes are there in a DMR network? Which is the control node in a multi-node network? What is the function of a node?

If you are having trouble answering these questions, it might be time to take a refresher course on the role of nodes in a DMR network.

In a DMR network, there are nodes with two functions, a control node and a switching node. There is only one control node in a network, and in a multi-node network, the lowest numbered node is the control node.

To help you visualize what this explanation looks like, the course DMR Network Architecture: DMR Node Architecture includes a diagram that makes it easy to see the role of a control node.

For further information about switching nodes, watch the video below and read the accompanying DMR Node Architecture lesson. You can also take the full Introduction to DMR course on the Tait Radio Academy.

Benefits of joining the Radio Academy:

  • Keep track of course progress
  • Gain access to the certification quiz at the end of each course
  • Receive a printable certificate upon completion of the quiz
  • Gain access to a printable, PDF study guide
